Two Parties Find a Way to Agree, and Disagree, on Student Loan Rates

I've read "Two Parties Find a Way to Agree, and Disagree, on Student Loan Rates" by Peter Baker and Jennifer Steinhauer. From what I've read the main issue in this article is that the democrats and republicans are disagreeing on a circumstance. What is the circumstance you ask? What theses two parties are having an issue of is ways of paying student loans. What both parties do agree on is they both don't want a steep increase in the student loan interest rate. President Obama is mad that the republicans do not want to help when it comes to paying off student loans, he stated them as "unsympathetic to college students in need". The republicans response to that was that the Obama and the rest of the democrats are "playing politics with the issue and trying to raise taxes on small businesses to pay for the subsidized rate". If congress and the White House do not come to a settlement about the issue the student loans will double 6.8% by July 1, 2012, which affects every college student in some way. Heck, it affects me! I plan on taking summer courses. Each plan was devised in a way to make it unpalatable for the other party to vote for it, thus setting the stage for a potentially protracted fight over how to finance the student loan measure. It was a reflection of the fact that Republicans do not want to have the fight Mr. Obama seemed eager for.

A Moment of Truth for Health Care Reform

"A Moment of Truth for Health Care Reform" is an article from NY Times. This article is focused on making America a better place for everybody when it comes to health insurance. When I saw the title and read the article, I can say I am 100% for this to happen. I am in a situation where I don't have health insurance and if the Affordable Care Act is approved this will help thousands of people I'm sure. Lincoln Caplan and Philip M. Boffey are the gentlemen who wrote this article and I can say that I totally agree with them. On the other hand, there is more things that this article is about but I would like to focus on the  Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act is also known as "Obamacare", it was signed into law by Barack Obama of course in 2010. What this could do is help everybody have an insurance.
This reminds me of how France handles things; France provides everybody with health insurance. Only thing is because of everybody being provided with health insurance by the government; the government is in fact, in debt. I feel that Obama has the mind to figure out what can be done for everybody to be protected, and he will make it happen. If everything go as planned, and everything works out in his favor, our government will not be in debt like France.

Iran, Israel, and the US

While reading "Iran, Israel, and the United States" I'd have to say I disagree with the publisher. The publisher has an idea that "Iran's nuclear appetites are undeniable". When the publisher states that, he doesn't fully elaborate on the concept of "nuclear appetite". Who knows what this publisher means? If the publisher is referring to a nuclear bomb, nuclear medicine, or even nuclear powered generators, the publisher needs to state that and give evidence. I really can't state what the publisher is stating because of the lack of evidence and unclear statements. Does Iran wants to bomb? Does the prime minister of Israel think we should start war? The publisher isn't making anything clear to me. We don't know who this publisher is, we don't know if the publisher is in any type of department with a specialty of this subject. The publisher's audience is American and Israeli interest as stated. The publisher really didn't have a good argument, by the looks of it; the publisher wants war which is something else I disagree on. The publisher did a good thing by not stating the info of him/her. Overall, this has facts but to me the facts were most likely "googled". Also, by the looks of the comments posted by others; I'd say they would agree with me more than they agree with this publisher.

Illegal Aliens & Obama

The article “Illegal aliens find a new BFF in President Obama” on www.foxnews.com is by Mark Kirkorian. The argument Mark is portraying is that since Obama was inaugurated, the illegal immigration population has declined. Since Mark is a republican, I assume his targeted audience is fellow republicans who look forward to his posts and opinions.
“...two illegal aliens approached him near a gap in the fence and asked if they could come in now since Obama had won.” This is what was stated in the article, a boarder patrol agent had reported to Mark that in 2008 this was asked the day after Obama's election. The quote I had just put is a good reference to the title of this article.
I feel that this is supported with facts and evidence. If you read the article it has statements that occurred from 2007 until now. Is the argument a successful argument? I'd like to think so, he is an executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, he is an anti-immigration activist, and a think tank (A body of experts providing advice and ideas on specific political or economic problems) in Washington, D.C. that promotes stricter immigration control and enforcement.
I myself am not a republican but if I was an anti immigrant activist; I would see why he has such great concern about this topic. It was really his article headline had grabbed my attention and I decided to do a blog on it, I feel that this is a good example of someone speaking his mind with great knowledge and facts. Mark used facts to state his opinions, which is something I respect.

No Child Left Behind

The "No Child Left Behind" law is what George Bush created 10 years ago for children in primary and secondary public schools education. According to the article that I've read, 10 states are being freed from some of the "No Child Left Behind" rules. "After waiting far too long for Congress to reform No Child Left Behind, my administration is giving states the opportunity to set higher, more honest standards in exchange for more flexibility,". This is quoted from, President Barack Obama. The 10 states that are being freed from the rules are  Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. I think this article is worth reading because if you care about a child's education like me you would like to know what is going on and to understand the new things that are going to effect our younger generation.
